A word from our volunteers
What I thought might be a short term stint at helping the community rebuild has turned into a six-year commitment to help the Salvage Centre fulfill its mandate to prevent as many items as possible from entering the landfill and to offer financial support to local charities. I’ve enjoyed working with others who share my passion.
Unpacking and putting out the donations is like an ongoing gift opening that benefits the community and keeps our landfill free of many reusable items. This is a fun and rewarding place to volunteer.
Volunteering at “The Center” was much more than I had anticipated. I became part of a new family of like-minded people who were contributing to the mission of an organization that was truly making a difference in our area. Added to that, I was able to help financially support a local charity of my choice!
